Breeds / Poochon

About the Breed

The Poochon is a new breed of dog that was bred to be intelligent, loyal and affectionate - its mixture of Poodle and Bichon Frise genes make a winning combination. The Poochon is a friendly, sociable little dog, making it a wonderful family pet for families with older children.

Because the Poochon is intelligent (a trait Poodles are famed for) it is a quick learner and easy to train - however this also means they can just as easily pick up bad habits, so be sure to start training and socialisation early.

Because of its mix of breeds, the Poochon has a very curly coat which is low-shedding - making it a great choice for those with allergies - but can need a lot of grooming. The appearance may also vary greatly as they are a mixed breed.

Although it is a small dog, the Poochon has high energy levels, making it ideal for those with active lifestyles.
